Raipur / While inaugurating the grand event of Rajyotsav and National Tribal Dance Festival at Science College Ground, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that we can strengthen our solidarity and make the development sustainable only by preserving the primitive cultural values across the world. The main objective of organizing the National Tribal Dance Festival is to create solidarity for the rights of tribals all over the world.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp and by playing the tribal musical instrument ‘Nagada’.

Chief Minister heartily welcomed dance troupes from various states of India and abroad. He congratuled the people of the state on the occasion of the State Foundation Day and the third National Tribal Dance Festival.

At the welcome program, artists from 28 states, 7 union territories of the country and 10 other nations including Mozambique, Togo, Egypt, Mongolia, Indonesia, Russia, New Zealand, Serbia, Rwanda and Maldives performed and mesmerized the audience with their tribal dance. Around 1500 domestic and foreign artists are participating in this event. On the occasion, Chief Minister released postal stamps and envelopes issued by the Postal Department and several table books of National Tribal Dance Festival for the year 2021.

In the program, tribal dancers from Mozambique, Russia and Mongolia presented beautiful dance in their own distinctive style.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the history of dance is as old as the history of man. There is a similarity in the dance style and musical instruments of the tribals around the world. It is a wonderful coincidence that there are many similarities in the style, rhythm, and movements of the tribal dances around the world.

This is because the tribals across the world share the same love and connection with the nature, they have similar dreams, hopes and desires. The objective of the National Tribal Dance Festival is to preserve the primitive culture.

Chief Minister said that this National Tribal Dance Festival was started as a platform to present the cultural beauty of Chhattisgarh to the whole world. But the very first event turned out to be such a massive success that it gradually took a shape of international event.

Chief Minister said that today is the state foundation day of Chhattisgarh. Today is our victory day, because on this day the dream of our forefathers came true and their struggles bore the fruit of success. State Foundation Day of Chhattisgarh on 01 November is the day when every Chhattisgarhia celebrates the formation of the state and takes pride in the unique indigenous culture. Chief Minister thanked all the states, union territories of India and tribal artists from all over the world and said that the tribal artists of the country and the world have come to join in our celebration.

The National Tribal Dance Festival is also a great opportunity to share each other’s thoughts and experiences. We will all learn from each other, learn, understand and think together about how to make the world better a better place.

He said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the State Government and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi to provide an opportunity and platform to the tribal artists of Chhattisgarh to perform abroad, which will increase the scope for promotion and exchange of tribal culture.
Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Dr. Charandas Mahant presiding over the program, said that today is a proud day for Chhattisgarh. National Tribal Dance Festival is being organized with the aim of acknowleding the importance and beauty of the tribals and the tribal cultures across the country and abroad. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, the state government is working very well for the progress of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarhia and Chhattisgarhi. State Government’s schemes are bringing justice to the farmers, poor and backward. He said that to make Chhattisgarh a developed state, everyone has to move forward with the resolve of ‘Gadbo Nava Chhattisgarh’.

Tourism and Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu said that in the last four years, State Government is moving ahead with the vision of ‘Gadbo Nava Chhattisgarh’ and working to preserve and promote its culture and tradition.

Culture Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat said that Chhattisgarh Government has given the due respect to the tribals and their culture by declaring a holiday on World Tribal Day and by organizing the National Tribal Dance Festival. Today, Chhattisgarh has a new identity in the country and the world. At the programme, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain gave the welcome address and the vote of thanks was proposed by Culture Secretary Mr. Anbalagan P. Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Tribal Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Public Health Engineering Minister Mr. Rudra Kumar, Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, many Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, President of Corporation Board, Councilor of Egypt Mr. Image, Mr. Maza of Togo, Principal Secretary Culture of Haryana Mr. D. Suresh and many public representatives and citizens were present.
