Discord launched Checkpoint 2025 on December 4, 2025, as its first personalized end-of-year recap, akin to Spotify Wrapped but focused on your Discord activity throughout 2025. The feature highlights key stats like total messages sent, hours in voice chat, your most-used emoji, the server where you spent the most time, the friend you talked to most, and your top five games played. After viewing your recap, Discord matches you to one of 10 unique Checkpoint cards, each paired with an exclusive Avatar Decoration—a cosmetic frame for your profile picture. These decorations are a limited-time thank-you gift from Discord, displayable only until January 15, 2026.

How to Access Your Discord Checkpoint

  1. Update Discord: Ensure you’re on the latest version of the app or browser client.
  2. Desktop/Browser:
    • Look for the flag icon in the top-right corner (next to your inbox).
    • Click it to launch your Checkpoint.
  3. Mobile (iOS only—Android temporarily unavailable):
    • Tap the “You” tab at the bottom-right.
    • Tap the Checkpoint banner.
  4. Eligible users may see a one-time pop-up prompting you to view it.

You can share a quick summary card in chats (optional; it stays private by default). Even if your full recap isn’t available, following these steps lets you claim the Avatar Decoration.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have been active on Discord in 2025 (e.g., sent messages, joined voice, played games).
  • The setting “Use data to personalize my Discord experience” must have been enabled in Settings > Data & Privacy throughout the year. Toggling it on now won’t generate a 2025 recap.

All Known Checkpoint Avatar Decorations

Your decoration is randomly assigned based on activity but matches your Checkpoint card’s theme. Users have reported these 10 varieties (compiled from community shares; all animated or themed cutely):

Decoration Description/Example Theme
Cat (Neko) Feline figure
Capybara Relaxed capybara animal
Bonsai/Plant Miniature tree or potted plant
Origami Crane Folded paper bird (often pink)
Duck Animated duck
Donut Sugary pastry
Snail Crawling snail
Banana Peelable fruit
Disco Ball Shiny rotating disco orb
Cassette Tape Retro music tape

Equip via Settings > Profiles > Avatar Decoration once claimed. It appears on your profile picture across Discord.

Common Issues and Fixes

Issue Fix
Checkpoint not showing Verify personalization setting was on all year; update app; restart or Ctrl+R (desktop). Download personal data export as alternative stats.
Android unavailable Use desktop/browser; iOS works. Fix expected soon.
Inaccurate/low stats Based on sampled data (e.g., voice hours may undercount); no fix.
“Ugly” or mismatched decor Random assignment; no choice or trade. Expires Jan 15 anyway.
Missed pop-up Access via flag/You tab; available until Jan 15.

The rollout is gradual, so it may take days to appear. Community buzz on Reddit and X highlights excitement over cute decors but frustration with eligibility and temporary access—many petition for permanence.

Checkpoint data uses activity metrics (not message content) and respects privacy settings. For 2026, enable personalization early!
